Applications of quartz sand in resin systems

Quartz sand is a proven filler and broadcasting aggregate for resin systems such as epoxy resin. As a third component, it is mixed into the pre-blended resin system until the desired consistency is achieved—ideal for polymer mortar, repair compounds, and durable floor coatings. Alternatively, quartz sand can be broadcast onto fresh, still tacky epoxy surfaces to create slip-resistant coatings or achieve decorative effects that imitate mineral substrates. This helps produce structured, long-lasting, functional surfaces with a professional finish.

Quartz sand grain sizes and technical data

For different requirements, quartz sand is available in grain sizes 0–1 mm and 1–2 mm, ranging from finer textures to more pronounced, grippy surface profiles. Dosage is as required, depending on viscosity, build-up, and the desired surface effect. Technically, quartz sand offers a density of approx. 2.7 g/ml and a bulk density of approx. 1500 g/L, ensuring consistent mixing and reliable broadcasting. Whether used as quartz sand for epoxy resin, as a filler for resin systems, or as a broadcasting aggregate for anti-slip surfaces, QS is a dependable choice for professional applications.
