Moulding

The mold making complete set includes all the components needed to create a negative or positive mold from a master model. Ideal for small to medium-sized forms in model making, prototype construction, or technical applications. The set combines tooling resin, laminating resin, glass fiber materials, release agents, and auxiliaries – optimized for dimensionally stable processing with low shrinkage and high repeat accuracy.

What distinguishes the mold making complete Set?

The HP-Textiles mold making kit contains all essential materials required for entry into GFRP or CFRP mold production. Whether for manufacturing technical negative molds or simple positive shells – the set allows low-distortion processing of epoxy resin with reinforcing glass fiber reinforcements. Included are release wax, reinforcement fabrics, as well as cotton flakes and glass fiber chips for structural enhancement. Thanks to the included mixing cups, wooden stirrers, and application tools, users can start laminating right away. The kit is suitable for beginners but also ideal for technically experienced users.

What are the advantages of mold making with epoxy resin?

Mold making with epoxy resin offers significant advantages over polyester resins: significantly lower shrinkage, greater dimensional stability, and virtually odorless application. The combination of tooling resin and laminating resin creates a durable, thermally stable structure with a smooth surface finish. Ideal for visible parts or functional tools. The materials enable the creation of negative molds with external contours as well as positive molds for internal geometries – such as in tank construction or tool manufacturing. The low distortion during curing and the high compatibility with various laminates make epoxy resin a preferred material in professional composite mold making.

How is the set processed and what should be considered?

The set is suitable for both basic mold making projects and advanced applications. After preparing the master model, the release treatment with wax and PVA ensures clean demolding. The tooling resin is then applied, optionally followed by a laminating system with fabrics, fillers, and structural layers. The layer-by-layer application can be adapted depending on the project. For even saturation and bubble-free results, proper mixing technique and a dust-free workspace are essential. Once cured, the mold can be demolded, reworked, or used for further production steps. All components in the kit were selected based on years of experience in composite mold making – compact, practical, and reliable.
