C-Glass Non Woven

C-glass veil is an especially fine-fiber reinforcement material with a styrene-soluble binder. Thanks to its special silane sizing, it offers improved chemical resistance and is optimally suited for processing with epoxy resin, polyester resin, and vinyl ester resin. The glass veil ensures high-quality surface appearance, uniform resin distribution, and is used to enhance both the chemical and optical properties of laminates.

What makes C-glass veil particularly suitable for composite processing?

C-glass veils stand out due to their fine fiber structure and the high chemical resistance of C-glass. Thanks to the soluble binder, they can be easily impregnated with resin systems and create smooth, pore-free surfaces. In applications where corrosion resistance, surface quality, and chemical stability are critical, C-glass veil is the ideal choice. Typical application areas include boat building, pool and pond coatings, chemical plant construction, and mold making. In addition, the fine structure ensures particularly uniform resin distribution, which sustainably improves the quality of FRP components. Even with complex geometries and strongly curved surfaces, the veil is easy to process without compromising the mechanical properties of the laminate.

Which variants of C-glass veil are available?

The product range offers different areal weights, tailored to various applications. The 30 g/m² C-glass veil HP-VJ30C is ideal for particularly lightweight and flexible surface layers, while the 50 g/m² C-glass veil HP-VJ50C is perfect for more robust laminates with higher mechanical requirements. Both veils have a width of 100 cm and can be used in both industrial lamination processes and hand lay-up methods. This provides users with versatile options – from small repairs and fine work in model making to industrial serial production. By choosing different areal weights, the veil can be perfectly adapted to the respective resin system and application area.

For which applications is C-glass veil suitable?

C-glass veil is used for surface optimization in composite processing. It is applied in model making, chemical-resistant pipes and tanks, automotive repair, as well as in industrial press parts. It is particularly popular in boat building and FRP pool coatings, where a fine, uniform, and chemically resistant surface is required. Thanks to its adaptability to complex geometries, it prevents visual defects and improves the durability of laminates. In addition, C-glass veil enhances the surface quality by compensating for small irregularities and providing improved paintability or coating adhesion. This results not only in functional but also in visually appealing composite components for a wide range of industries.
