Surface / Impregnation

The epoxy primers and impregnations from HP-Textiles are specifically developed to seal, strengthen, and optimally prepare mineral substrates, concrete, masonry, wood, and metal for further coatings. Our 2K epoxy primer systems are solvent-free, low-viscosity, and characterized by excellent adhesion and wetting properties. They penetrate deeply into porous substrates, ensure long-term substrate consolidation, and create the ideal base for floor coatings, filler systems, or corrosion protection.

Advantages of an epoxy primer / epoxy impregnation

A key advantage of our epoxy primers is their outstanding wetting properties, which allow reliable treatment even on highly absorbent or porous substrates. The systems provide deep impregnation and pore filling, resulting in long-lasting stabilization and strengthening of the substrate. Thanks to their high bonding strength, the primers adhere securely to concrete, cement render, masonry, wood, and even metal surfaces. In addition, they are water-resistant, low-odor, and completely solvent-free, making them easy and safe to use in both industrial and private applications. Another advantage is their versatility: when combined with XB thinner, the primers can also be used as deep impregnation, further enhancing the adhesion and absorption of difficult substrates.

Application areas of epoxy primers

The application areas of our epoxy primers and impregnations are wide-ranging, from traditional construction projects to specialized industrial applications. They are particularly used on mineral and wood-based substrates, providing reliable sealing and substrate reinforcement. Typical applications include concrete floors in workshops, garages, and industrial halls, as well as screed surfaces and cement substrates that require preparation for coatings. The systems are also ideal for masonry and plaster, ensuring a stable base for subsequent filler or coating systems. In timber construction, the primers provide effective protection and a reliable adhesion base. Even metal substrates can be optimally pretreated with our epoxy primers, highlighting their versatility in construction chemistry and renovation projects.

Application and processing of epoxy primer

The epoxy primer HP-E35GS from HP-Textiles is applied in a mixing ratio of 2K resin and hardener. Consumption is approx. 150–250 g/m², depending on the substrate. Application can be done with a paint roller, brush, or rubber squeegee. For highly porous substrates, the system can be mixed with 5–10% XB thinner and used as deep impregnation. In addition to the 1.4 kg unit, the HP-E35GS primer is also available in a 4 kg version in our online shop.

Why use an epoxy primer?

A high-quality epoxy primer / impregnation is the key to durable and resilient coatings. It prevents delamination, reduces absorbency, consolidates the substrate, and creates the perfect surface for subsequent coatings, fillings, or sealings. Thanks to their versatility, our systems are widely used in construction work, industrial flooring, garage coatings, renovation projects, and timber construction.
