Chopped Glass Fibre

Discover our glass fiber choppings for the targeted reinforcement of epoxy resin, polyester resin, and gelcoat. The short glass fibers increase the mechanical properties of laminates, improve load-bearing capacity, and expand the possible applications in boat building, model making, mold construction, and industrial composite manufacturing.

Glass fiber choppings for resin systems and composite processing

1 to 2 (from a total of 2)

Glass fiber choppings in different lengths for individual applications

Our range includes glass fiber choppings 3 mm and glass fiber choppings 6 mm, which can be used in different resin systems depending on the requirements. Shorter choppings allow fine distribution and easy handling, while longer choppings provide enhanced mechanical reinforcement in thicker laminates. Both variants are versatile – from the production of pressing compounds to filling adhesive beads and reinforcing repair areas.

Benefits of glass fiber choppings in resin processing

By adding glass fiber choppings, the tensile, compressive, and flexural strength can be significantly increased. The resin mixture remains flowable and can be applied reliably in molds or onto surfaces. Reinforcement with glass fibers improves fracture resistance and provides greater stability of the laminate structure. In combination with cotton flakes, glass fiber choppings can also be used for bonding layers in mold construction, further enhancing processing quality.

Applications of glass fiber choppings in composites and construction chemistry

Whether as an asbestos substitute, for the production of pressing compounds, or as an additive in resin systemsglass fiber choppings are versatile aids in composite manufacturing and construction chemistry. They are used in boat building, for the repair of GFRP and CFRP components, or in industrial mold making. Thanks to their easy dosing and high effectiveness, they represent a valuable addition to conventional additives and allow flexible adjustment of material properties.
