Non-woven Polyester for mould construction / mould construction fabric

Our mold fleece and mold fabrics are specially developed for use in mold making, model building, and the production of complex composite components. They are characterized by excellent drapability, high stability, and optimal compatibility with epoxy resin, polyester resin, and vinyl ester resin. This makes them reliable solutions for prototype construction, series production, and repair work in both industry and crafts.

What makes mold fleece and mold fabrics particularly suitable for mold making?

Mold fleeces stand out due to their excellent tension and draping properties, allowing them to adapt perfectly to complex geometries and curved surfaces. They are made of polyester fibers or glass fibers with soluble binders, enabling clean processing with resin systems. This results in smooth, pore-free surfaces that are ideal for subsequent coatings or paints. Especially in composite processing, automotive construction, or boat building, they significantly contribute to surface quality and dimensional stability.

Which variants of mold fleece and mold fabrics are available?

The HP-Textiles range includes different options tailored to specific requirements. The 150 g/m² polyester mold fleece HP-VP151P is ideal for light, flexible molds and is commonly used in car hi-fi installations, model building, or custom prototypes. For higher mechanical requirements and robust laminate structures, the 1000 g/m² glass fabric finish HP-HD1000EF is the perfect choice, used in construction, vehicle manufacturing, and for durable mold tools. Both materials are suitable for hand laminates as well as vacuum processes, ensuring reliable performance during processing.

For which applications are mold fleece and mold fabrics suitable?

The application possibilities are diverse: mold fleece is used to form complex shapes, curves, or edges cleanly and stably. It is applied in boat building, automotive construction, aerospace, industrial press parts, and construction chemistry. Mold fabrics, on the other hand, provide high strength for durable, load-bearing molds and are ideal for series production, prototype building, and composite repairs. Together, these reinforcement materials ensure reliable laminate production, even resin distribution, and high surface quality – making them essential reinforcement fibers in modern composite technology.
