Function of the vac checker® in the laminate setup

In professional vacuum setups, precise vacuum pressure measurement plays a crucial role in ensuring an even resin distribution and preventing air entrapment within the laminate. Even small deviations in vacuum level can influence the resin flow, affecting both the mechanical properties and the surface quality of a composite part. The Vac Checker® measures vacuum pressure in the range of 1,100 mbar to 0 mbar with an ultra-fine resolution of 0.01 hPa (10 micron). The integrated absolute pressure sensor delivers stable and reliable readings – independent of temperature changes, ambient pressure, or altitude – ensuring consistently high process reliability. This level of precision makes it an indispensable tool in serial production, mold making, prototype construction, and complex lamination projects where reproducible results are essential.

Connection options and accessories for the vac checker®

The Vac Checker® comes with a universal connection adapter that fits vacuum hoses with an inner diameter of 6 mm, 8 mm, and 10 mm, enabling seamless integration into existing vacuum technology setups without the need for extensive modifications. It can be positioned flexibly – either directly between the vacuum pump and the part or at any strategic point in the vacuum circuit to monitor pressure trends. In combination with additional vacuum accessories such as shut-off valves, vacuum gauges, vacuum lines, or the MTI® VALVE, it enables precise real-time process control. This allows early detection of vacuum fluctuations, targeted control of resin flow and evacuation, and ultimately an improvement in the final laminate quality.

Application areas of the digital vacuum gauge

The Vac Checker® is suitable for almost all composite manufacturing processes that require controlled vacuum – including vacuum infusion, vacuum bagging, the MTI® process, and other underpressure methods. Typical application areas include boat building, automotive lightweight construction, the wind energy sector, mold manufacturing, as well as the aerospace industry. It is also valuable in model making and prototype production whenever precise vacuum monitoring is required throughout the entire manufacturing process. Wherever stable process parameters are crucial for quality and reproducibility, the Vac Checker® plays a key role in quality assurance and process optimization.
