Carbon Fabrics are available in different constructions. The important characteristics you will find below:
 
Plain
  • The simplest weave
  • Very slip-resistant
  • Bad drapability
  • Suitable for flat plates or easy moulds

Twill
  • Diagonally running lines are characteristic
  • Better drapability than plain weave
  • Less slip-resistant
  • Suitable for complicated geometries

Satin
  • Suitable for complicated geometries
  • Very good drapability
  • Low slip-resistance
  • Less mesh crossing, therefore strength in the laminate
  • Leaves a very smooth surface
