Epoxy Mould Resin Systems
The epoxy tooling resins from HP-Textiles are specially developed for mold making, model building, and the production of precise casting molds. As 2K epoxy resin systems composed of resin and hardener, they offer high dimensional stability, different viscosities, and defined pot lives, making them suitable for a wide range of applications in mold making and model construction. Whether for abrasion-resistant shells, fine surface layers, or as multi-purpose systems for lamination and repairs – within this category, users will find the right epoxy tooling resins for professional results.
Epoxy tooling resins – 2K epoxy resin systems for mold making, model building and casting molds
What is epoxy tooling resin and what is it used for?
An epoxy tooling resin is a material for mold making and is used for the production of casting molds, for duplication in model building, and for applications requiring high dimensional accuracy. The range includes different 2K epoxy resins, each tailored to specific requirements. The HP-E30FB black is an aluminum-filled, highly viscous, and thixotropic epoxy resin system with high abrasion resistance and a pot life of approx. 30 minutes. The HP-E25FB is an unfilled, thixotropic epoxy resin, characterized by excellent sanding and polishing properties, and offers a working time of around 25 minutes.
Properties of epoxy tooling systems
The various epoxy tooling resins provide properties that are essential for different applications in mold making and casting resins. The HP-E25KL is a medium-viscosity, unfilled, and chemically resistant epoxy resin, which can be used as a multi-purpose resin for laminating, mold making, surface coats, and as an adhesive system. It can be processed from 5 °C onwards, making it particularly versatile. The HP-E45KL is another medium-viscosity epoxy resin with a pot life of approx. 45 minutes, also used as a multi-purpose system. For edge-resistant, non-sagging, and bubble-free surfaces, the HP-E30FB grey-blue is available, which is thixotropic and produced under vacuum, ensuring a bubble-free formulation.
Application of epoxy tooling resins
The processing of epoxy tooling resins is carried out by mixing resin and hardener in the specified ratio. Depending on the selected system, either short or long processing windows are available, so that the resins can be used both for detailed surface coats and for abrasion-resistant mold layers. The HP-E30FB series is ideal for producing edge-resistant molds, while the HP-E25FB is particularly suitable for fine layers in mold making, which can be subsequently sanded and polished. The multi-purpose epoxy resin systems expand the range of applications, as they can be used not only for mold making but also for lamination, repairs, surface coatings, and as adhesive resins. This makes the category mold making & casting resins a comprehensive source of epoxy tooling resins for professional applications in mold making and model building.
